Midway Products Group was a test site for the initial FSS Process: Tailgate mechanism commodity.

Midway Products Group has a certified test lab for mechanisms and towing packages.

Product Development and Support

Engineering Teams

During the design process of a part or an assembly, our engineers use a broad range of engineering and design disciplines, including:

• Concept development using design feasibility and cost/quality studies
• Prototype product and process development
• FMEA, PFMEA, DFA/DFM and DVP&R
• Complete CAD/CAE network with customer and supplier data links
• SPC, design of experiments, 6-Sigma and other quality disciplines
• On-site engineering assistance and support
• Durability/reliability testing on assemblies and systems
• Product design verification using FEA

• Design Teams meet weekly to review new product ideas and status

Benchmarking

• Weekly vehicle evaluations; on-site at corporate headquarters
• Over 185 vehicle comparisons completed at Midway Products Group and Customer Tear Down Centers to date
• Customer Subjective Rating Evaluations
• Commodity Teams evaluate and record attribute/technical data

Design Capabilities

Midway's Product Design CAD department includes:

• 10 networked UNIX workstations dedicated for product design running PDGS, SDRC/C3P I-IDEAS, CATIA V and Unigraphics software
• Workstations dedicated for FEA using Abaqus, SDRC, Working Model, Inventor, Visual Nastran and Algor Software
• Electronic data transfer capabilities to customers, suppliers and Midway plants
• Network protocols T-1 lines with ANX access
